- Mushroom Cultivation is an essential skill-based course which can generate employment to trainees in the form of entrepreunal enterprise. The establishment of this course is with the objective of exploiting the latent potential of mushroom cultivation as a food production industry, for socio-economic growth and to encourage entrepreneurial activity.
- Course on Mushroom Cultivation started in the College in 2015, under the ‘Vocationalization of Higher Education Project’ under Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), Ministry of Human Resources Development, Govt of India, with a vision to establish a fully fledge Mushroom training centre as well as spawn production unit. The Department of Botany has been assigned to facilitate the course. The College now have a Spawn Production Laboratory, Culture room and good mushroom training facilities.
- The College has signed an MoU with the Department of Horticulture, Government of Nagaland for collaborative training and certification of trainees successfully completing the course.
