Best practice of the department :

Safety measures in Laboratory are mandatory. Students are taught safety rules in the practical classes primarily on day one.
Green Chemistry is incorporated in syllabus.
Waste minimization is encouraged in practical classes by grouping students in experimental works. This also encourages peer group interaction and learning from each other.
Judicious uses of chemicals are encouraged to prevent environmental pollution.
Laboratory wastes are segregated as far as possible into biodegradable and non-biodegradable groups.
Honours students compulsorily participate in seminar presentation as an academic exercise.
