The Departmental Seminar Committee, Fazl Ali College conducted its Inter- Departmental Seminar on 30th July, 2025 at the Conference Hall. A research paper titled, “A Study of Democratic Orientation in Nagaland: Participatory Orientation as a Core Dimension” was presented by Mr. K Nokmarenba, Asst. Prof, Department of Political Science. The presenter highlighted the theoretical framework, methodology and how political participation is accepted as an indicator of sustainable democracy.
The study used primary data with variables like voting, participation in election campaign, election meetings, political discussion and party membership. The datas were analysed using statistical tools to determine the level of political participation. The objective of the research was to arrive at a profile of participatory behaviour in Nagaland. The presentation was followed by a Q&A session. The Seminar was moderated by Dr. Lipokrenla Jamir, Head of Department, Political Science and Dr Imnazenla Longkumer, Assistant Professor as the rapporteur of the session.
