The Department of Ao, Fazl Ali College celebrated the 25^th International Mother Language Day at college auditorium on 21^st February 2025, under the theme “Where words meet culture.”

Shri I. Temjen Tzudir, Publication Head, Ao Riju (Ao Academy) spoke on the significance of the day.  I. Temjen Tzudir stressed that your mother tongue is your core identity. He said knowing other languages is useless if you can’t speak your own. He then explained how specific Ao words show the close connection between language and Ao culture.”

 Mr. L. S Vinod Kumar, Vice Principal, F.A.C spoke on “Beauty in Diversity.” Rice pounding song and a folk song called “Yimlusur Ken” was presented by the 6^th semester girl students and 6^th semester boy students respectively. 4^th semester students presented a folk fusion item.

Another highlight of the day was the Ao Folk story narration competition amongst the Ao Honours students from all semesters. 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd prizes were bagged by Imsuyangla (6^th sem), Repaienla (4^th sem) and Kikagangla (2^nd sem) respectively.
