Fazl Ali College on the 8^th of September celebrated its 67^th Foundation Day at the College auditorium commemorating decades of hardwork, growth and achievements of the College. The programme started with the singing of the College Anthem. The Principal Dr. I. Wati Imchen delivered the Foundation Day address with a brief highlight of the achievements, activities, developments and progress of the College.

The event was graced by Shri. Vesupra Kezo, NPS Sr. Superintendent of Police, Mokokchung as the Guest of Honour, while Bunglang Chang, Additional SP and Imlitemjen, DYSP Reserve were also present. Shri. Vesupra Kezo on the occasion congratulated the Fazl Ali College family acknowledging and expressing gratitude to the pioneers and former members of the college stating that it is an occasion to remember, honour, celebrate and look forward to a brighter future. In his speech Shri. Vesupra Kezo said that college is not just an infrastructure filled with facilities but a temple of new ideas and innovations to discover newer possibilities and imagine a better society as he adds, ‘privileges comes with responsibilities’, further stating that it is an institution that prepares young people for life, where true education teaches individuals to think and contribute to the society and Fazl Ali College has produced generations of such students.

 Shri. Vesupra Kezo also expressed on how living in a technology-driven world we are overloaded with information yet “information is not wisdom”, he said, technology cannot give discipline, character and responsibility, and responsibilities towards community and society. He also particularly addressed the students on the usage of drugs, cyber crime and the use of AI which has become a very important issue among students’ community. In regard to the usage of drugs, he advised the students that one wrong decision destroys not just an individual but relationships and society, appealing to protect their dreams, friends and community at large.

 He urged the students to use technology responsibly, to make it a platform to learn, create and build the future and not to harm others, as misusing it can lead to serious consequences. A time when AI has become a threat, Kezo said, ‘AI should not be a threat’, instead it should be a powerful tool to enhance thinking and not allow AI to think for us. He reiterates that there is a need of integrity, empathy, compassion, creativity and humanity more at times like this and so he advised the students to use technology wisely and not let it determine their self worth. He encouraged the students to build character, discipline, respect, as the real identity of the college lies in these traits of its students, adding that the true test of education comes when society judges on how one has achieved and not what one has achieved.

The programme was chaired by Dr. Shokip Tumtin, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Chemistry, a special song and  drama was presented by the music club and drama club respectively, and Mr. Kushemyimjong Chang, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Political Science, pronounced the closing prayer. The event saw students, faculty members, awardees, parents and guests coming together to celebrate the milestone achieved by the college.

 Achievers Award

1. Evangelical Union Student of the year Award. This award was constituted in the year 2015 by Mrs Kuholi Chishi former principal of Fazl Ali College. This award was started to encourage young learners to maintain quality of life as a Christian and fulfill the academic standards as expected by the college. The EU student of the year 2026 was awarded to Miss Thailung Phom.
2. Alumni Association Award for student of the Year” –  Mr. Aosashi Kichu.

Three cadets from NCC were also awarded for their outstanding performance in different fields.
